Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players are upset as split-screen play appears to be unavailable across all platforms, and buggy on others.

Every player who enters Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Zombie game mode likely approaches it differently. From individual strategies to game exploits, players quickly learn how to survive the dangers of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War zombies.

As players flood into the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies campaign, they are finding new ways to navigate the map. There have been some major changes since fans last delved into Zombies, but that has not stopped them from already finding interesting exploits.

In a clip shared by TikTok user StarkLandon, the player points out a spot which has made them invulnerable to zombies. During a part of the mission in which the portal opens up, players have an opportunity to climb on top of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombie Pack-a-Punch machine. Once on top of the machine, zombies are unable to reach the player, allowing them to shoot the undead from a safe position.

Exploits like this are not uncommon finds among the Call of Duty Zombies community. With the undead growing in power every round, it is not surprising that players seek various ways to bypass the oncoming horde. Still, a glitch is a glitch, and players are not supposed to be able to climb on top of the Pack-a-Punch machine to avoid all damage.

Even after being notified, it may take some time before the developers are able to patch this glitch. From a user perspective, the glitch is only beneficial as long as the Black Ops Cold War player has ammo in their gun. Once they run out, they will be stuck with almost no way to reload.

While players could camp using this spot for a while, it does not do much more then prolong the inevitable. It also seems that players who have triggered this glitch are only able to climb during a certain time period. This means that once they get down, they would return to normal Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies gameplay.

As far as glitches go, this seems to be no more harmful than players "training" zombies in circles or leaving a single zombie alive at the end of the round. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see developers remove it in a future update.

Split-screen has been part of the Call of Duty experience for a long time. Recent titles have left the feature out, but Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War promised the feature's return. Despite this, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans have found that split-screen may not be available on all platforms.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War announced that split-screen would be available on both modern and next-gen consoles. The feature allows for a couch co-op experience, but as players have been booting up their new copies of the game, they found the feature has either been missing or broken.

On platforms that the option appears through, players have found that despite Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's size, split-screen is almost unplayable. While the main player has full control, a second player has a less enjoyable experience. In a clip of the game mode shared by Charlie Intel, players can see that the second player's weapon and model are invisible. Although they can navigate the map and fire, objects do not remember correctly in multiple cases. These are only some of the many problems players are reporting across platforms as this option continues to be explored.

So far the split-screen glitch appears to be affecting almost every platform. The exception is Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on Xbox Series X, which seem to be having even more problems. Aside from constant crashing, the title does not display an option for split-screen play at all.

The lack of split-screen does seem to be only affecting Xbox Series X users, but more reports continue to appear as strange glitches crop up. With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War newly launched, it seems developers already have a list of fixes needing to come in future updates.

For the moment, split-screen in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is unplayable. Fans are advised to continue to document the problem and submit it to the various Activision and Treyarch community outlets. As more players report the problem, the higher a priority it may become for the development team.
